Renovation of Historic St. Paul’s Church in Alexandria, VA Featured

Kerns Group Architects’ renovation of historic St. Paul’s Church was featured in the March 2011 issue of Inform magazine. The article about this vibrant working parish in the Old & Historic District of Alexandria, VA, covers the key space in the renovation, the Garth, an eight foot wide exterior space between the church, designed by Benjamin Latrobe in 1817 and the 1955 fellowship hall. The design encloses the Garth, a source of ongoing drainage issues, to create a light-filled, accessible path to the Fellowship Hall. Kerns Group obtains the required approval of the Board of Architectural Review to implement the design.
