Tom Kerns Teaches Watercolor Painting in Rome, Italy

Tom Kerns is accompanying Catholic University of America (CUA) architecture students to Rome, Italy, where he is teaching watercolor painting and sketching as a way to remember the architecture they visit.

While this is Tom’s first opportunity to teach painting to students, he has been painting outdoors for years. He hopes the students will not only come to love the “plein-air” technique for capturing images of the rich historic sites in Rome, but will carry the ability with them for life. CUA plans to display the students’ paintings in the spring of 2012.
